March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month
Problem Gambling Awareness Month is a nationwide grassroots campaign, held annually in March, that seeks to increase public awareness of problem gambling and promote prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

Apply for a Conference Scholarship
Conference scholarships are designed to expand access to the NCPG Annual Conference for individuals who have limited financial resources, are new to the field, and bring unique perspectives from lived experience and/or underrepresented populations. This opportunity helps open doors for future professionals and builds a stronger, more connected field for years to come.

NCPG Adopts 1-800-MY-RESET as New National Problem Gambling Helpline™ Number
The adoption of the new number strengthens national visibility for the Helpline and supports NCPG’s ongoing network modernization efforts. 1-800-MY-RESET is neutral, non-stigmatizing, and user-defined, signaling that individuals can reach out for support at any point in their relationship with gambling.

Ask Me Anything: Reducing Problem Gambling Stigma Through Language and Action
Problem Gambling Awareness Month is a time to foster open, informed dialogue and challenge misconceptions about gambling-related harm. In this AMA, Andrew J. Schreier, International Certified Gambling Counselor and host of the “Talking Addiction & Recovery” podcast will explore how problem gambling stigma creates both individual and systemic barriers; from cultural norms that discourage help-seeking to systems that overlook gambling in screening, healthcare, and policy. We’ll discuss how stigma shows up in everyday language, interactions, and institutions; the ways family members, workplaces, healthcare professionals, and community systems can unintentionally reinforce silence; and what practical steps we can all take to create a more compassionate environment where people feel safe seeking support.

An Introduction to Problem Gambling Screening Tools
Effective screening is necessary for identifying gambling-related harm, understanding severity, and supporting intervention. This webinar will introduce three tools used to screen for problem gambling: the Brief Biosocial Gambling Screen (BBGS), the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI), and the Emerging Adult Gambling Screen (EAGS). Participants will learn what each tool measures, how it is structured, and the settings in which it is most useful, with special attention to screening considerations for younger populations. The session will compare the strengths and limitations of each screening tool, provide guidance on administration and scoring, and discuss how screening results can inform supportive interventions and referrals to recovery services.
