NCPG Testimony for United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary

Keith S. Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, submitted the following testimony to the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary for its hearing entitled “America’s High-Stakes Bet on Legalized Sports Gambling,” held on December 17, 2024. NCPG appreciates the focus of the hearing and the opportunity to bring national attention to the issue of gambling addiction. NCPG emphasized the urgent need for federal involvement in combating gambling-related harm and for comprehensive policies to address the public health crisis tied to expanded sports betting.
